Characters: Brian, Jennifer, John, Marjorie, Pat, Roy, Tony
- Pat and Tony are preparing for their eagerly awaited holiday, although Brian turning up to play the landlord doesn’t leave a particularly pleasant taste in the mouth. They’re leaving John in charge of the farm and it seems Helen has a party planned for the weekend!
- Kate’s still not turned up and Jennifer’s worried. Roy’s more concerned with the play and is very worried that Lynda will soon indulge in a little re-casting and put herself in as Helena! John and Roy don’t fancy this idea much ….
- Marjorie’s trying to collect signatures for her petition opposing the destruction of some piece of woodland. She’s a little forlorn at the fact that the new cricket scorer did a, seemingly, fine job at the weekend. She’s after Jennifer’s signature too, who doesn’t seem to be so keen, until she finds out that Matthew Crawford, the ex-owner of the wood (and recipient of significant compensation) is part of the consortium with Brian, at which point Marjorie has one new signature. She is very unhappy with the news that Brian’s been across to Bridge Farm.
