Characters: Brian, Debbie, George, Jack, Kate, Marjorie, Tony
- Tony’s still moaning to anyone who’ll listen about the proposed sewage pipe, Brian, as landlord, isn’t that interested, nor is George, as Parish Council Chairman, nor Jack, as Parish Councillor. There is, though, a council meeting tonight, where Tony wants the matter discussed, but George is not sure there will be time.
- Kate is desperate to talk to Debbie, eventually she corners here and tells her about Roy’s intentions. As far as she is concerned Roy can whistle for his rights can that if she’s not claiming benefit the CSA cannot do anything and that Roy’s threats are groundless. Debbie doubts her plans for self-sufficiency though, pointing out that holding down jobs and refusing parental handouts hasn’t been an obvious talent of Kate’s in the past.
- Marjorie collected seeds and acorns from the site of the bypass and they’re now sprouting. She wonders if these might be part of a village Millunium project.
- Tony’s being a pain at the council meeting, but George has an important item of news and wants the council to form an opinion before the news leaks out. An application for planning permission for a dozen new houses has been received for Sawyers Farm …
Note: Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this is currently site of the Estate Office and (possibly) the business units.
