Characters: ADHAC Chairman, Alistair, Brian, Clarrie, Joe, Shula, Usha
- Alistair and Shula share a tense few moments as he tends to a horse at the stables, but she agrees to lunch at The Bull, where they both apologise for Friday. Shula agrees that she might be a little obsessive and that a short break would be nice – although not yet. He’s coming round for lunch on Thursday.
- Alistair’s round also takes him out at Grange Farm and he asks if Joe’s got any more good tickets, maybe Paraguay vs. Nigeria? He didn’t appreciate being misled, but Joe’s bigger worry is Clarrie, who is still furious. She wants the tickets back pronto, only Joe’s given the money to the feed rep who visited that morning …. she threatens to empty his room and take it to the second hand shop to pay Richard back if the tickets aren’t forthcoming.
- The ADHAC committe is hearing evidence in the matter of Sammy Whipple’s cottage. Brian’s main point is that the holiday cottages are not part of the farm and that his keeper is classed an agricultural worker and needs to be on hand. Usha responds that while the law sees a keeper as an agricultural worker, it’s hardly the case in this situation and, with 2000 acres to patrol, does the keeper (who has a vehicle provided) need to be on the farm itself. Both parties leave the hearing very confident.
