Characters: Clarrie, Joe, Julia, Ken Barraclough, Lizzie, Richard, Usha

• Usha is still fuming at William and is joined by Clarrie after he gets a talking to from the policeman.
• Richard is not in the best of moods as Ken Barraclough tells him he intends to challenge his mother’s will, and insinuates professional misconduct over her rapid demise. He isn’t worried about his conduct, although he is worried about mud sticking.
• Filming continues at Lower Loxley and some questions are answered;
  • Julia, after priming herself for “Marlon” (and to hold him in her arms) is set for a fall when it transpires that “Marlon” is a pig! It gets worse as she plays Joe’s wife!
  • Clarrie is surprised when her laundry maid is to be in a scene with the star of the film’s squire. After filming she is almost incapable of coherence at the experience, she was kissed (“properly”!) in four takes, by the star of the film – Tom Cruise!
