• Nigel’s at Grey Gables, he’s lonely while Lizzie’s in Rome. He offers to drive Caroline to Suffolk to visit Guy, after prevaricating she accepts, although not on the actual anniversary, they’ll go on Monday. Despite this being the day Lizzie returns, Nigel agrees.
• Simon apologises to Ruth for about his behaviour, she asked if Debbie put him up to it and he denies that particular truth!
• David’s still very down on Simon and Pat and Tony defend him (David) as he starts to rue the existence of the contract.
• Later David and Simon have a real bust-up, with Simon coming straight out with his doubts about David’s abilities and the usefulness of their contract. David reminds him that it has a twelve month break clause. Simon responds by pointing out that not if the work is not up to the required standard and he can expect written notice of this decision.
