Characters: Alistair, David, Kenton, Mike, Neil, Ruth, Shula
- One of Christine’s horses, Ringo, requires Alistair’s attention which gives them a chance to meet and further their blossoming friendship (on a related note, Graham is taking Caroline out this evening, too), not before Kenton could drop round, quizzing his twin on it and asking for a loan to tide him over. His cashflow problem is to be alleviated soon, but he has debts associated with the New Year’s bash that need to be covered.
- Ruth and David are still trying to think of ways to get Phil and Jill to agree to Ruth’s herd expansion plans.
- Coincidence dictated that David, Kenton, Mike and Neil were all in the Brookfield lambing shed as Jet finds a rat which gave vent to a little bloodlust and Mike was able to, having got wind of Neil’s plans to work with John again, draw analogies to “a human rat” and, when the rat was finally dealt with, to comment that “that’s who they treat people at Bridge Farm” …
