Characters: Clarrie, Eddie, Jill, Laurence Lovell, Lynda, Simon, Susan
- Lynda and Larry are on a collision course over the panto. She’s complaining that her part isn’t big enough, especially after a re-write, but is put down in no uncertain terms.
- She has a certain amount of grace to spend after solving the principle boy problem – although Larry’s reaction to a picture of Debbie, as well as his general obsequiousness to the female members of the cast, is starting to portray him as a bit of a Dirty Old Man ….
- Susan is nervous when she bumped into Clarrie, unsure of how to react to her secret.
- Eddie drops in to the estate office to be met by an irate Simon, who tells him to be patient and be assured that Graham Rider is dealing with the matter efficiently. Eddie is not happy.
- After Eddie left, Simon admits to an inquisitive Susan his real plans. In the light of the valuation and that the Grundys are “bad farmers on good land”, he thinks there is a case that the fire was as a result of poor maintenance and in the light of their past record, he’s sure that their secure tenancy could be in danger, his lawyers are preparing the case …..
