- Lynda and Robert are travelling up to Grimsby today, Christine and Debbie agree that they will, genuinely, miss her.
- George is still down about his job and getting to be a bit of a regular in The Bull (on orange juice), which is an unusual as The Bull is going through a bit of a slump, thanks in part to the Cat’s success with trendy’s fittings like pool tables and wide screen TV.
- George has taken being called out-dated badly. Christine recomends letting things settle and staying away but George is worried for the birds.
- Debbie tries to have a quiet, unwinding night, but Simon is being very intense. He’s worried about her seeming to avoid him, a conclusion that she agrees with. She objects to being made to feel on trial and is thoroughly confused by him. She doesn’t think that she could ever love him if she thought that his actions toward David were revenge. Simon is incredulous and mocks Ambridge and the cosy lives of its inhabitants, damning the tribunal as country folk closing ranks. He thought she was different, able to see beyond that and he really flies of the handle.
History repeats itself as Simon’s temper erupts and blows are heard. In an otherwise empty Home Farm we hear Debbie’s screams.
