• Richard finally sends his amendments off, in ten days the final report will be published, together with the recommendations to the the health authority, who have 30 days to make their ruling.
• Richard tries to convince Usha that her attempts to take his mind off things cannot work, he appreciates her trying, but he’s nervous about the situation for very good reasons!
• Eddie and Clarrie are buoyant in spite of the circumstances as the await a call from Usha.
• Al is in celebratory mood as he finds a poem by one of the convicts on his list, one Josiah Goodall who came from Darrington and had been published before his deportation.
