Characters: Betty, Hayley, John, Roy, Sharon, Susan, Tom

• John’s very tired, claiming it’s because of lots of extra work. Hayley’s not happy that he’s not planning on going to the Cat’s Gangsters night – she’s got her Moll costume all ready. He tells her he’s going to be helping Tony (who’s in the doghouse with Pat for not telling Mike about the shop’s imminent demise) assemble the new coldstore.
• In the shop Sharon passes Hayley, although says nothing. Betty asks if she’d be willing to do some hours in the shop.
• Sharon and Susan are discussing Clive. Sharon considers him unchangeable and, while admitting he’s family, Susan agress that while she’d like to give him the benefit of the doubt, she’s not completely convinced.
• Tom’s wants Hayley to produce some of Pru’s marrow and ginger jam for the flower and produce show, he has confident in his marrows!
• John and Sharon “meet accidentally” in the Bull and although Tom’s in the corner, they talk and, erm, go for a “walk”. Later John meets Hayley in the Cat and acts as if nothing is wrong. Indeed, Roy’s there (after his first day at University – no mention of which) but Kate had already left and John makes a distinctly ironic comment about committment.
