Bad news at Lower Loxley as a big conference is cancelled despite protestations about the improvements in facility. Lizzie wonders how they heard and thanks the fact that she’s got work with Hugh, it’s still a bone of contention but they make up to a point.
Phil is concerned at Ruth’s feelings to his reluctance to go through on the herd expansion and whether or not to buy more milk quota, he’s also a little peeved at David’s vacillations.
Nigel is seeking advice from Caroline’s shoulder, it got worse, the Echo’s front page has the story about the wedding which went wrong a few weeks ago, including a photo of Lower Loxley and an old one of Nigel, and called Lizzie a ‘local heiress’. A tear-stained bride and distraught mother outlined how their big day ruins and He’s fuming. Caroline advises not to write to the editor. So he decides to go for a re-launch for spring! He’s wondering if Lower Loxley means as much to Lizzie as much as it does to him.
At an Archer evening out at the Hassett Room. Shula’s gossiping with Jill about a sighting of Caroline’s new “man-friend”. David asks if it’s Alistair Lloyd? Shula decries this suggestion but she happens to be in the bar. So Shula asks her who dhe was seen dining with in the Feathers in Felpersham …. “Just a friend” So she filled in the dating agency forms? Vehement denials as the lady protests …..
