Characters: Jill, Lizzie, Phil, Richard, Shula
- Father’s Day at Brookfield and Phil’s enjoying being the centre of attention and one question is answered – Lizzie’s present is a copy of the score to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, the piece he is to conduct at Lower Loxley’s summer spectacular.
- Shula made her excuses and popped away for half an hour to meet with Richard and have their chat, an awkward dialogue as Richard started with the “it shouldn’t have, but it did, happen” opening, she responded with the “we’ve known each other for five years, why now?” defence, he tried to play the “my girlfriend doesn’t understand me” card, which Shula trumped with the “every couple has hard times, you need to work on it” gambit, she followed it with admitted that she missed Mark terribly and he was around and suitably to play the part. They finally agree to work at being just good friends.
