Characters: Alistair, Eddie, Jill, Lizzie, Phil, Shula

• Phil’s driving Jill mad with his worrying about the forthcoming concert, eventually Lizzie turns up to ease his mind, saying the the orchestra manager was impressed by his musical background (tactfully avoiding telling him the no-hopers they’ve sometimes played with and that they could probably do it without him).
• Eddie discovers that Lizzie needs cannon and offers to do the job for her.
• Alistair bumps into Shula, Jill and Daniel feeding the ducks and while Shula admits her mistakes to Jill, Alistair is obviously someone Daniel has a lot of time for. Later, at Glebe Cottage, Shula expresses her appreciation for his relationship with Daniel – it’s something she’d missed, but Alistair doesn’t want to be around just to be a surrogate uncle. He wants her to want him like he wants her, the question is left hanging in the air, but he’s going to come round tomorrow night to watch the football with Daniel and there will be an answer waiting for him …..
