Characters: Caroline, Christine, George, Kathy, Lynda, Shula, Sid
- Lynda’s arranged the sewing bee to put the peace quilt together and there’s much to do – including her having to re-do her square because of the unusual material she used. Everyone’s talking about Robert’s interview and it’s obvious that she’s not keen on the Grimsby idea, not improved by Yorkshireman George’s enthusiasm!
- Shula’s still concerned about the Grundys’ lack of farming witness and seems to be coming round to the view that she should do it, even if it endangers her job.
- Kathy, Sid and Caroline discuss the Hassett Room and, to their relief, Caroline isn’t playing the interfering partner, but coming up with some very good ideas as to how to improve the place.
- Shula and Caroline – the only two who know about the slap – are discussing Debbie and Simon, eventually, Shula decides that, while it’s difficult, she has to tell her about the real Simon.
