- Daniel is still in a lot of pain, he seems to have a problem with his elbows and knees. Richard is trying to get another specialist to look at him.
- Hayley and Tommy are still desperately seeking Eric the boar, before the news of his escape reaches either Neil or Peggy.
- It is the Christening day of Joshua Matthew. Nigel copes, in spite of being anxious about his role; he was rather surprised to have Josh handed to him in church. Fortunately it is a nice day for the party. Phil and Jill are able to enjoy it knowing that something is being done to help Daniel.
- The boar hunt continues as Hayley and Tommy excuse themselves early from the party, on the pretext of feeding Neil’s pigs.
- Richard reaches the hospital, bearing cake and a home video of the day’s events, just after Mr Fenton-Davies the consultant has left. His diagnosis is systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Shula feels better for knowing what the problem is, although Richard warns her that it is not an easy thing to deal with; it is a matter of time before the inflammation in Daniel’s joints subsides.
