Characters: Caroline, Clarrie, David, Eddie, James Miller, Ruth, Shula
- David seems to have started as he means to go on by fussing over mother-to-be Ruth. Ruth is glad that David has definitely decided not to stand for captain at the cricket club AGM on Thursday. Brookfield comes third most profitable of 22 local dairy herds.
- Caroline invites the Grundys to tea on Thursday, against Clarrie’s better judgement.
- Nigel has asked Grey Gables to take over some of Lower Loxley’s commitments as the rewiring work, set to last three weeks, starts today, and Elizabeth is due back from London on Wednesday.
- David and Ruth try to decide when they are going to tell their parents, Pip and others about the new baby.
- Shula is getting into her job with her new client, but still regrets having to leave the estate.
- James Miller asked Simon’s solicitor for a meeting of all parties to make a compromise, but they refused. The legal costs will cost GBP1000 minimum. James Miller is to press for an early hearing, but needs the Grundys’ accounts. Joe isn’t too cooperative.
- Nigel has managed to rearrange one wedding reception to Grey Gables, but the other two appear to be more problematic.
