Characters: Clarrie, Ed, Eddie, Joe, John, Kathy, Neil
- Business hasn’t been too good at the Bull since Christmas, and Sid decides that savings have to be made. Unfortunately, the only way to do this seems to be cutting back Clarrie and Betty’s hours, and asking Kathy to work more. Clarrie is disappointed, but Sid hopes to reconsider in the summer.
- Joe has got his scraps of paper out of his shoeboxes to send to the accountant, to Clarrie and Eddie’s disbelief. Joe’s last tax submission was for the financial year ending April ’94.
- Borchester Mills is considering selling organic food, and John is keen to find out more. John thinks Sean might be interested in being cricket captain, but Sid is having none of it, and suggests Neil stands.
- At Graham Ryder’s request, Susan is organising an open day for clients to look round the business units.
