• George is warning Jack that he’s going to be on the prowl again tonight, and while Jack’s not keen on George over-doing things, it was good that he was out – as he spied suspicious types near the golf course and called the police out.
• Brian is playing the heavy landlord with Eddie over a blocked drain, but not being too unreasonable about it.
• Jack declines Brian’s offer, he wants to keep his shoot small to retain its character. Jennifer’s unhappy, as much because Brian’s shoot will inevitably compete and probably serve to force Jack’s shoot under.
• Eddie’s picking up another load of butchered, frozen meat and is stopped by the police, but managed to talk his way out of it. Later he picks up a hitch-hiking Clive at the roadside, who’s trying to get the last train to London to meet his parole conditions. While he doesn’t say so, it does seem that Clive might have been connected with the poachers ….
