  • Joe’s at Brookfield for the milking, still no news, but Eddie’s working hard and the stock is building up.
  • Another panto rehearsal for Jill, although Nigel’s not got one and Joe has pointed out to Phil that these “special” arrangements seem only to happen to the female members of the cast. This prompts Phil to decide to offer his piano playing to the production.
  • Lizzie and Nigel have words over her committment to Lower Loxley.
  • The clear skies over Grange Farm cloud over in dramatic fashion. A letter arrives recorded delivery from the Estate’s solicitors giving them notice to quit, effective from 15 March, 1998. General incredulity and a shocked Clarrie exclaims, “He can’t throw us out of our home …..”
