Ruth gets the kids away. Brian is facing competition for the Chair at BL from Gerry.
Radio Times: David feels isolated, and Brian hears rumblings of discontent.
Characters: Brian, David, Eddie, Gerry, Kenton, Lynda, Ruth- Eddie is struggling to make ends meet. The bottom has dropped out of the gnome market. But Lynda is more worried about the Britain in Bloom judges. They can’t have hanging baskets going dry. And then Eddie doesn’t even turn up for milking and David loses his cool with him.
- Ruth and David get the car packed up and ready to go but they are both clearly even anxious about any stops they make. It is clear Ruth hasn’t told David that Adam now knows what is going on.
- Gerry makes it clear that he doesn’t think Brian is up to the job at BL anymore. Maybe someone else should take a turn. Later Brian even gets a call from Gerry saying that he doesn’t think Brian has taken milk prices into account. Brian points out that he is the farmer and he should leave that to him.
- Lynda says she has plans to take the whole village by storm at the Cultural Olympiad. She is more scathing about Kenton’s efforts.
- Ruth gets to Heather safely. All is quiet and fine for the moment. But tensions are still running high.
