Lilian resists Matt’s best efforts. Keith Horrobin gets four years.
Radio Times: Mike takes the plunge, and David has a favour to ask.
Characters: David, Ed, Jamie, Lilian, Matt, Mike- Just four years – two with good behaviour: Keith Horrobin is lucky that Mike wasn’t the judge! Now Mike’s thoughts must turn to the ante-natal classes; he has to go to support Vicky. Today’s task turns out to be bathing a doll. Vicky points out that they need to choose a name; they seem to have the alphabet covered: Angela, Bethany, Claire, Daisy, …
- For Matt nothing is too much trouble: he is taking Lilian Christmas shopping, though it seems she could take it or leave it. James’ thankyou note reveals Matt’s gift of the cognac. Why? It wasn’t James’ birthday or anything; Matt was just feeling generous.
- At Brookfield there is more agreement that justice was done. David hopes that Emma thinks it was worthwhile, though being in court yesterday was a bit of an ordeal, thanks to Tracy. It’s all down to Emma’s phone call that Keith Horrobin was caught. David has a big favour to ask Ed: to feed the stock, apart from the herd, over Christmas and New Year – full holiday rates of course. Ed can manage that.
- Vicky and Mike drop into the same shop where Lilian is trying on a rather nice coat, rather nice and rather expensive. Despite Vicky’s encouragement, Lilian can’t decide, and eventually defers buying the coat; she’s not in the mood for this type of shopping. Perhaps they will wait for the sales.
- David owes Ed a pint or two over which he has a proposition for him: Ed buys his fertilizer and concentrates in bags, David in bulk; if they put their orders together it could work out cheaper for both. Ed initially sees it as a charitable act but agrees to think about it.
