Jim seeks a last Borchester Life ‘victim’ – Brian perhaps?
Radio Times: Maurice turns out to be Job’s comforter.
Characters: Alice, Christopher, Hayley, Jim, Maurice, Neil, Tom- Christopher is going stir crazy. Jim knows all about the boredom of convalescence and, with Jazzer’s help, has collected some DVDs and books for his entertainment; he is feeling guilty because all his Borchester Life ‘victims’ have come to grief in one way or another. Who should his final interviewee be? Alice suggests her dad – but don’t ask him directly; ask mum.
- Problems, problems! Tom missed the delivery of the weaners but Neil managed on his own. Tom tears Maurice off a strip about the cause of today’s problem but it turns out to be Tom’s omission that was the issue. Maurice listens as he unburdens himself about his difficulty with Brenda, though he is convinced that nothing has happened that cannot be fixed. Maurice advises not relying too much on Brenda coming round. Prepare for the worst – that’s what usually happens; he will come out stronger. That’s such a comfort!
- Neil is doing some repairs to the hen house roof; the damage is quite extensive, though not as extensive as the church organ. Hayley wonders whether either is worth it, the organ or the hens. Neil can see the sense in Hayley’s thinking; maybe they should wind down the egg business or even get rid of it altogether.
- Alice has not had a good day. Having emailed Lawrence in Canada on Friday to turn down the job, she got a reply today. She left her laptop unattended and she thinks someone in the office saw it. Then she got a call from her boss who wants a meeting on Thursday. She fears the worst.
