  • As George rehearses his part in the Nativity play, his parents are still secretly searching for a suitable puppy, indeed any puppy! It just wouldn’t be the same at New Year. Emma appears to have a plan but is keeping her cards close to her chest.
  • Leonie is not keen to go to the Nativity play – can’t face it, nothing to wear, etc etc. Lynda, who does not readily take no for answer, is undaunted and eventually persuades her that it would take her mind off the big issue.
  • Emma has paid another visit to the farm with the collie/lab litter but the farmer, Mark, is still adamant that he can’t let one go before New Year. Emma lays out the advantage for a dog of such size to have a home on a farm; does the Felpersham family have so much space – no, she thought not. She explains how George is struggling to get over the loss of Baz. Won’t Mark change his mind?
  • Leonie is glad she went to the service and is enjoying being out so much that she doesn’t want to go straight home. James is in Brighton for Christmas; Lynda assures her there is no rush and she does not need to face the problem alone but eventually she will need to tell James.
  • Where are we going? Wait and see. Of course they are heading back to the puppies, where Mark has indeed changed his mind. George picks a girl and names her Holly. He wants nothing else for Christmas now; he has his heart’s desire. Susan is not quite so delighted but it was only a little puddle!
