Rob seals his divorce and proposes to Helen; Tony and Tom may be nearer an understanding.

Radio Times: Helen receives good news, and there is a surprise delivery for Jolene.

• Rob hears on the telephone that Jess has agreed to a divorce. He is sure that it is for the best for both of them. He will see his solicitor without delay.
• Tom apologises to Kirsty about his mood this week, but the atmosphere with Tony affects everything. Kirsty says that he should tell Tony how he really but Tom feels that if he does, he may find that Tony just doesn’t care. Kirsty thinks it’s a risk he may have to take. At The Bull, Jolene receives a special delivery parcel, an expensive embroidered waistcoat from Kenton. He pleads for forgiveness. They hug. Kenton has a plan to replace the Valentines night takings, a Shrove Tuesday pancake competition. The waistcoat is a hit.
• Rob makes a surprise call to Helen and Kirsty in the shop. He shares his news that Jess has agreed to a divorce. Helen is absolutely overjoyed and looks forward to Rob calling back at lunchtime. Kirsty is almost dumbstruck. Later, Helen calls Pat on the telephone. She shares her good news, happy that Rob loves her so much and has acted so quickly, it’s all so fast. Pat is underwhelmed. Helen senses her mother’s doubts but she assures her that if Helen is happy, so is she. After the call, Pat discusses the news with Tony. Neither is over the moon. Tony goes off to discuss the ploughing with Tom. Pat believes that they should talk, but Tony is afraid that if he did, Tom just wouldn’t care.
• Helen tells Kirsty of Jess’s attempted suicide. Poor Rob, he was so upset. Kirsty was sorry for Helen and Jess of course. However, Helen believes that all is now well and that Jess has accepted the situation and is ready for them all to move on, so Kirsty must see why she is so happy. “Yes, I can and I’m very happy for you Helen”
• Tony apologises to Tom, explaining that he feels that he has his energy and confidence back after his heart scare. He is revitalised; he has a future; he is a dairy farmer through and through. He wants and needs to be part of the farm again. He wants cattle back in his life. Tom says that he understands all of that but the business of the farm needs to go on and be managed. Tony explains that he is peeved by Tom’s constant talk of business and Tom says he is vexed by Tony and Pat’s sentimentality about the farm. The gulf between them still exists, but may be closing.
• Walking by the Am, Helen and Rob’s happiness is palpable. Helen tells him that Pat was so pleased for both of them and that Kirsty was too, once the news had sunk in. Rob calls it a day of miracles, having won over his two greatest critics. They sit and kiss. Rob says he wants to remember Helen just as she was when he asked her to marry him. “Helen I love you, will you marry me?”
