  • It’s the day of the fete and David is preparing to man the SAVE stall, selling T-shirts and giving out postcards to be sent to the Council. When special guest Kirstie Allsopp arrives to open the show, Lynda explains the threat that is hanging over the village and encourages her to visit the SAVE stall. Fallon in particular is looking forward to meeting her hero – the queen of up-cycling.
  • Needless to say, Lynda steers Kirstie towards Lilian’s exhibit hoping she will expose Lilian’s tissue of lies by asking awkward knitting questions but Lilian escapes by the skin of her teeth. Later, Lynda enlists Nic’s participation in the charade, ensuring her that Lilian is just the person to answer her knitting query. When Lilian comes clean to her, Nic realises she has been used by Lynda and so backs up Lilian’s story.
  • Kirstie gives Fallon some business advice: Ambridge needs a permanent tea room which could be the base for Fallon’s up-cycling and events business. Using tea and cake from the WI stall, Kirstie is bribed to pose for a photo in a SAVE T-shirt, though in another part of the field Charlie has cornered the Echo reporter and photographer, so the next issue will be scanned with interest. Kirstie’s assessment is that the villagers will give the Council a run for their money.
