There is a good turnout for both the Lakey Hill Easter service and The Bull’s events on The Green. Things remain cool between David and Kenton, despite David’s efforts.

Radio Times: Easter dawns on Lakey Hill, and Kenton is not budging.

  • Jill is astounded by the number of people who have turned out on Lakey Hill for the Easter service. Alan has a quiet word with David about the rift between David and Kenton. He’s concerned for Jill, who is putting on a brave face, but even so…
  • Jolene and Kenton have turned down the invitation to tea at Brookfield. Jolene comments that Kenton has had a disturbed sleep and feels he must put aside his disagreements with David. There’s nothing he can do, and besides, he and Jolene have plenty on their plate at the moment.
  • Those who’ve attended the service muse on how much they have to be thankful for, following the recent floods. David’s forward planning for the barn dance extends to inviting Kenton and Jolene to run a bar, which Jill thinks is an excellent idea. However, Kenton is ignoring David’s calls so David calls Jolene, who views the offer favourably and will discuss with Kenton. After initial reluctance, Kenton agrees it will be good for business, but he won’t make an appearance, as someone needs to hold the fort back at The Bull.
  • Business is booming at The Bull’s event on The Green. Fallon has a potential backer for her business – someone who saw her in action at Loxfest. Jolene issues a word of caution: beware strange men bearing gifts. Alan compliments Fallon on her positive ‘can do’ attitude, providing a boost for the community. He takes some of her business cards and expresses interest in her crowd-funding idea.
  • Lynda’s putting pressure on Kenton to attend ‘Messiah’ tomorrow evening. Jolene joins in and Kenton is press-ganged into agreeing to go. He wouldn’t want to disappoint both his sisters, would he?
