Radio Times: Susan tickles the tastebuds, and Kenton senses a conspiracy.

  • Ed is not altogether appreciative of Susan’s canapés, and wonders whether Mike and Vicky might not prefer crisps. Undeterred, Susan drafts in Emma to help her experiment further.
  • Still mulling over Peggy’s offer, Christine calls on Jill to ask her advice. She is worried that Peggy is just feeling sorry for her, but Jill thinks it is a wonderful idea, and suggests that Chris should go and look at The Lodge before making up her mind. Jill points out that Chris would be doing Peggy a favour; since Jack died she, too, has been very lonely.
  • Tom gives a grateful Ed a hand with the baling. Tom will be glad when Pat and Tony return. The new bull is proving gentle, but is not running with the cows yet. Ed thinks he will give it a wide berth, unable to forget what happened to Tony. Ed offers Tom a pint at The Bull in return for his help.
  • Chris acts on Jill’s advice and is quickly won over when she sees the lovely room Peggy is offering her. She asks anxiously what would happen should Peggy fall ill. Cheerfully, Peggy tells her they will draw up a proper agreement. Chris rushes off to tell Jill the good news.
  • As Ed and Tom enjoy their pint, Jill calls to tell Kenton what she thinks is another piece of good news; the Ambridge fete will take place at Lower Loxley. Her excitement is quickly dissipated, however, as Kenton erupts in fury. No-one consulted him or Jolene, and they will lose all their Sunday takings in what will be a ghost village. It seems that David, Elizabeth and Jill are all conspiring against him.
