Harrison and Fallon decide to live together; he has some good advice for Kenton too.
Radio Times: Harrison Burns has an idea, and Jim senses someone has a Machiavellian intent.
Characters: Fallon, Harrison, Jolene, Lynda- Fallon has had an eviction notice from an unapologetic Hazel; she must vacate her flat by 21 Oct. Jolene suggests that she could always move back to the pub. Kenton is still wallowing too much to be helpful.
- Lynda encounters Harrison and encourages him to take Fallon to the opera; she will be there anyway. Jim joins them, demonstrating his Italian, and suggests that he and Lynda retire to The Bull to discuss tactics over lunch. Susan has told Jim about the Machiavellian Archer plot but Lynda puts him right.
- Fallon’s old room at the pub is full of stuff stored away from the flood. Besides, with Kenton drinking and so miserable she really doesn’t want to be there. Harrison has an idea; they could move in together; they could afford it between them.
- Kenton is unimpressed with all the talk of rallying round to save the shop; nobody is rallying round to help him and The Bull’s problems. He storms off for a break – a whisky break.
- Lynda plans to encourage as many as possible to write and object to the change of use of the shop; Jim thinks they need specific points based on law. They should have registered the shop as a community asset.
- Harrison gets an apology from Kenton for greeting their news so coolly; he is pleased for them. Harrison confides that he and his brother haven’t spoken for years. Harrison doesn’t know how to fix it but wishes he could. It’s easy to lose your family but very hard to get them back.
