Lynda struggles with the Christmas show. Eddie struggles with a way of fighting the Fairbrothers’ geese.
Radio Times: Lynda looks for inspiration, and Neil is the master of diplomacy.
Characters: Charlie, David, Eddie, Lynda, Neil, Pip, Roy- Why is Lynda making Charlie wait to cancel a booking at Grey Gables? Roy is not impressed to find that she was on Ambridge Christmas Show duties; that won’t do. If she is finding it difficult to come up with ideas, why not have a year off? That cannot be; people are volunteering to be in it; there is a different feel this year.
- David and Pip are de-budding calves, a job that Ruth would normally do. Ruth and David are going back to Prudhoe tomorrow night. Pip is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of Granny Heather; she will miss her at the forthcoming graduation. She is not looking forward to explaining to her fellow graduates that she didn’t take up the job with Websters.
- Neil calls on Charlie to tell him that the village hall committee have decided on a community restoration. Justin would be welcome to make a modest donation but he won’t be having his name in lights. Poor Justin: the vicar has asked him not to go OTT at the harvest festival.
- Eddie drops in at Brookfield to present the family with a rabbit. He reminisces that Heather would always ask about William and Edward. He is very interested to hear that Pip is going to Lower Loxley to do some tasting for Hugh, who is trying out dishes for his Christmas menu.
