Solutions are found for problems in the Christmas play and Eddie is thrilled to move his family back to Grange Farm.
Radio Times: Susan tries to cover something up, and it is a big day for Eddie.
Characters: Eddie, Elizabeth, Jill, Lynda, Susan- Eddie is flogging holly without much joy, but Susan wishes the Grundys good luck with their move. She does manage, however, to mention that it is only temporary. Lynda is thrilled with the delivery of the calendars.
- Jill tells Elizabeth that Ruth is not coming home for Christmas but both agree that Ben is disconsolate about his mum not being at Brookfield. Jill invites Elizabeth and her children over for Christmas lunch. David needs cheering up as well and a proper family Christmas would go a long way.
- Susan comes to see the calendars and Lynda chatters on about selling them at the Christmas Fair. Susan shrieks and notices that a ‘bit’ of her is showing which should not be. Susan insists that they can’t be sold with her picture in.
- Jill talks to Eddie as he moves some things into Grange Farm. There must be one or two changes to the place since the Grundys last lived there, smiles Jill. Eddie has cobbled together odds and ends and is very pleased with the result.
- Lynda has the usual troubles over the rehearsal issues. Lilian and Jean had a terrible row with the ‘p’ word mentioned, whispers Susan. What? Lilian threw out prima donna in the heat of the moment! Lynda finally loses her patience and accuses everyone of acting like spoilt children. Why does she do this every year? Lynda sacrifices herself because she cares and raises money for deserving causes. The rehearsal is over.
- Susan volunteers to smooth this one over. She apologises to Lynda for everyone but Lynda surprisingly agrees that Jean IS a prima donna. They will all work together to keep Jean in line. Susan also has a solution for her offending part. She has stick on stars and she will put on her picture in every calendar. Lynda is a bit uncertain but Susan declares that she is happy with this solution. Let’s hope the humidity is low during the coming year!
