Village sympathy remains divided between Helen and Rob.
Radio Times: Jennifer adds some finishing touches, while Eddie works on a repair.
Characters: Adam, Eddie, Ian, Jennifer, Joe- As Adam prepares to collect this season’s fruit pickers from the airport, Jennifer is leaving welcome packs at their accommodation, which Adam says is unnecessary as they now have a professional cleaning company. They later welcome the new staff, allocate their accommodation and invite them for drinks at ‘The Bull’.
- Adam, Jennifer and Ian discuss yesterday’s events at the Single-Wicket, including Rob’s ‘questionable’ commentary. Ian and Adam commend Johnny’s actions in taking a stand against Rob in support of Helen, but Jennifer is not so sure that everyone takes Johnny’s view, due to the severity of Rob’s injuries. Ian reminds Jennifer that Helen has not been herself for a long time and now there is a baby to consider in the whole sorry situation.
- Joe and Eddie are making repairs to cracks in the wall ahead of Caroline and Oliver’s return. They cannot work out what has caused the huge crack in the kitchen wall, unless it’s a patch of plaster that’s taken longer to dry out following the redecorating. Eddie is also hot on the trail of Borsetshire Wildlife Trust’s proposed survey as he has a hunch that Brian Aldridge wants to dismantle the elf paraphernalia in order to prevent people roaming on his land. If this door closes, Eddie sees another opening – into ‘Elf World’. Ever the entrepreneur, Eddie will corner off a section of their field and charge for parking rather than admission. Joe agrees that Eddie may be onto something, especially as they could ask for donations and market elf-related merchandise.
- Ian is making a red velvet cake for Brian and Jennifer’s Ruby Wedding Anniversary and as he and Adam look at the recipe, Adam invites Ian along to welcome the pickers at The Bull. Thinking about the pickers prompts Ian to ask whether or not Adam ever hears from Pavel since he returned to Poland. He doesn’t.
