Justin has been researching no-till farming and feels that BL can only derive benefit from being seen to be safeguarding its soils for future generations. He leaves, claiming that he has “a friend” coming over to help him to consume his strawberries.
- Toby finally turns up just as Rex and Pip finish the bulk of their work. Pip calls for a volunteer to accompany her when she takes three of her mother’s heifers to Hampshire on Thursday. A reluctant Rex is “volunteered” by his brother. They’ll meet at Brookfield on Thursday.
- With dinner behind them, Lilian and Justin head off to the Dower House. They bump into the Fairbrothers who are off for a drink. Lilian and Justin continue on their journey leaving Toby to diagnose that they are having an affair. Rex can’t believe it. Toby insists saying that he and Pip could be doing the same thing on Thursday. He protests but Toby insists that he’s right. Rex must seize the day!
