Rob pours his anger onto Alan about the psychologist’s report.
Radio Times: Rob acquires new ammunition, and Alan has a job on his hands.
Characters: Alan, Lilian, Lynda, Neil, Rob, Susan- Rob discovers a scarf of Lilian’s at the Dower House. He insinuates that he knows why it was left behind and how this would destroy Justin’s reputation. Lilian hurries off as quickly as she can.
- Susan tells Lynda about all the dresses she has bought for the photograph. Apparently, she now has 5 candidates for the final event. Lynda changes the subject to the players and the rehearsal. Lynda takes the opportunity to flatter Susan shamelessly on her acting abilities and asks if she has managed to learn her lines. Lilian bursts into the shop to buy a lemon for a G & T. (The conversation with Rob seems to have shaken her.)
- Susan forbids Neil to drink cider because of the sugar contained which violates his diet for the photo session. She then tries to show Neil all her dresses but he can only see the money involved. Susan focuses on poor Ed and worries about how he may let the whole family down by not appearing sharp.
- Lilian shows up for rehearsal but everyone else is late. She argues with Lynda and wants to leave early. Neil and Susan arrive just in time to keep Lilian on board but when Lilian is asked about Justin’s whereabouts, her temper flares.
- Rob comes to Alan’s home but he refuses a drink or a sit down. Rob is incensed about the psychological report and blames Helen for manipulating the psychologist. In fact, all the Archers are in it together. Alan brings up forgiveness but Rob says there is no way he would ever forgive Helen. Alan points out the effects of anger on the children. Rob can only focus on what he views as the injustices perpetrated against him. Alan points out that Helen and Rob cannot change what has happened but they can change the future. This will happen only if they try.
