  • Lilian sees Eddie as she searches for Tony. She wants to catch Tony before his contact visit with Rob. Eddie invites Lilian to the Cider Club but she is unsure since she has worries on her mind. Eddie notes that the cider tasting always cures what ails you. Joe is thrilled with Bartleby’s recovery but he attributes all to the young vet and Alistair is a bit annoyed at Joe’s praise at his expense. Joe invites the ‘new assistant’ to the Cider Club tasting but Alistair insists she is not his assistant.
  • Jack is crying and Rob refuses to use a dummy which is only used by the ‘weak’ apparently. Tony must endure Rob’s baiting about the ‘work of fiction’ that is the psychologist’s report. To the background of Jack’s wails, Rob refuses any of Tony’s advice as to what works with this infant.
  • Elizabeth asks Alistair about his new partner but Alistair tells her that nothing has been decided. Lily has done very well at college but no news yet on Freddie’s exam results. Richard turns up with an invitation for lunch and Alistair leaves suddenly.
  • Rob tattles to Tony about Lilian’s relationship with Justin but Tony protests that it is none of his business. Rob continues to make Jack wail but refuses to listen to Tony’s advice and pleas to try something different. Rob blames it on the café environment and blames Tony for making it as difficult as possible.
  • Elizabeth is determined to discuss Shula but Richard seems to be uninterested. The twins are discussed and Elizabeth mentions that she has considered getting them a car for their 17th birthday. Richard seems sceptical about the safety issues but is encouraging about Freddie’s potential.
  • Joe and Eddie discuss the quality of the cider with Richard as Lilian shows up. All sound a bit as if they have consumed too much of the Borsetshire Beauty Single Variety. Richard has to beg off to the loo but Lilian wants a bit of oblivion. Joe and Eddie are pleased with the product and the turnout and hope for just as good a return next year.
