Relationships between Anisha and Alistair continue on a downward path; Will does nothing to confound the old Borsetshire adage that “where there’s a will, there’s a miserable Will.”
Radio Times: Alistair is being secretive and Will gets a flea in his ear
Characters: Alistair, Anisha, Clarrie, Emma, Keira, Rex, William- Anisha phones Rex to explain that she may be delayed for their meal. Rex gives her two hours… tops! She makes her excuses and hangs up as Alistair blusters in. He’s out of sorts because a recent supplies order has been made up wrongly. Anisha’s request for anaesthetic help with some horse surgery on Friday doesn’t help his mood. He agrees, with very little grace and stomps off.
- Will has called in at Grange Farm and tells Clarrie that he’s had a note of thanks from Oliver in which he says that Caroline has left him £1000 in her will. Clarrie is so happy for him. Caroline was so generous. She says that Ed was surprised when he had a similar note. Will can barely speak but manages to ask how much Ed was left. He can’t believe the answer, a similar £1000.
- Alistair is still complaining about the order as Anisha confirms that the horse surgery has been booked in for Friday. He then drops his bombshell. he asks her for cover for tonight. It’s something that he can’t put off. Anisha’s furious, she had expected an apology for everything that had gone wrong recently. She reckons that his mind is just not on the job recently. He takes a call from Shula, barking that Anisha should stay until he’s finished.
- Will moans to Clarrie that he wonders why Ed should receive anything from Caroline especially as he’s already Oliver’s favourite “charity case.” Clarrie angrily recalls Will’s good fortune with his inheritance from Aunt Hilda. He attempts a grudging apology and leaves as Emma arrives. She asks Clarrie what the problem was; clearly, there was one. She replies saying that it was “nothing worth repeating.”
- Alistair finishes his call to Shula. Anisha hadn’t realised that they had something planned for Friday. She offers to cover for him tonight providing that he explains why he needs the time. “No” he says, “it’s none of your business.” With that, he leaves. When she meets up with Rex later, she phones Alistair and leaves a message. She will cover tonight, but tomorrow they really must talk.
- Keira and George are having tea in the garden at Grange Farm. Emma suggests that she and Clarrie could do something similar. Keira is spotted rummaging through her mother’s handbag, getting tomato ketchup everywhere. She apologises and is sent to clean up. Emma attempts to clean up a small scrapbook she keeps. It’s an attempt to follow an internet video she saw some time ago. It advised that attempting to visualise what you want your life to be like in the future, you dream just may come true. Her book is full of images of her future home, just enough for her, Ed and the children. Ah well, let’s hope Emma.
