Characters: David, Eddie, Joe, John, Pat, Simon, Tony
- Pat’s off to Underwoods who add their name to the complainants about the yoghurt and Bridge Farm is generally a fractious place with John and Tony snapping, too.
- Eddie and Joe are planning to go public over the cows and the fact that Simon will not be happy is a good thing!
- Simon meets with David in the Bull to discuss the Grange Farm figures, to wants to check on “our” solidity. He’s concerned that marginal competitiveness with no subsidies is not enough to be sure of winning the expensive legal action. He would prefer to see optimism rather than caution.
- James Miller has the Grundy accounts and is still quietly confident but he’s worried about damages claim and that the liability on the new building could threaten viability – and they’ve still no farming witness.
- Simon sees the cows being driven to the field and is, as expected, the face of apoplexy, but it strengthens his resolve to make sure that the case against the Grundys needs to be water tight.
