- Jack’s had no success with potential replacements for George, indeed most other estate owners have been ready to take him on if he becomes free! Caroline recomends patching their differences – which they do, George also persuades Jack to pay for some casual labour.
- Robert’s not got the job in Grimsby, which Lynda seems disappointed about.
- Pat’s off to talk to a hotel chain about supplying yoghurt, while Tony’s still not happy at all the expansion talk.
- Nigel bumps into Caroline at Nelson’s, Nigel needs to talk to Nelson about Julia, who’s off to visit Ellen, Caroline is having another date, with a very dull banker who happens to be in his car e-mailing New York, Nigel gets rid of him by pretending to be Caroline’s jealous husband!
- Later, at the Dower House, Nigel and Caroline are putting away wine at a significant rate. Lizzie’s in London visiting Hugh, so when Nigel suggests he gets a cab home, Caroline offers him a bed for the night. As they talk and flirt, it becomes apparent that it might end up being her bed ….
