Home Farm is a less than harmonious place to call home: Brian’s complaining, inter alia, about his tax bill and, when Debbie complains of her problems with Sammy and the lambing, he suggests ditching the old hand. Debbie pleased with a birthday gift of a substantial cheque from Roger and Brian is blaming Kate’s situation on Jennifer spoiling of her. At lunch everyone is sniping and Jennifer snaps, at least trying to keep her family from ripping itself apart.
John’s visiting Kate, asking her to intervene with Hayley on his behalf – to tell her that Sharon was at the cottage at her suggestion. Later Hayley’s looking for Kate and, seeing John, smells collusion.
Sharon’s off to Leeds and while both she and John are unhappy at the situation, he does seem pleased that she’s out of his hair.
Hayley’s due to meet Roy in The Bull but he’s late and, by coincidence, John’s there. He tries to explain why Sharon was there and she believes him, but says that that doesn’t change the situation, she might be able to forgive him but she’ll never be able to trust him again.
