Characters: Caroline, Jennifer, Lynda, Mike, Morwenna, Roy, Shula
- Jennifer’s at Grey Gables to book a table, but Lynda is intent on harranguing her for yesterday’s incident than performing her receptionist’s role. While Jennifer can see her point, she doesn’t quite agree that Greg’s a psychopath and a menace to society, neither does Caroline (who’d seen him in the village, the worse for wear after a sleepness night and having found several birds savaged by a fox). Lynda (suffering from post-traumatic stress) heads home with a migraine.
- Roy finally gets through on Morwenna’s mobile, with little effect. Kate’s too busy bonding with the baby to talk to him and Morwenna would rather he didn’t place stress on her with his angry tone. He seems genuinely distraught at not having seen his daughter, although Kate is still refusing to see the issue of paternity as any issue at all.
- Shula meets Alistair for lunch, which went well, but tea with Caroline was a more bumpy ride. As old friends are want to do, she gets to the root of the problems: while they’re discussing Alistair’s good points Shula seems to be spending as much time talking about Richard’s problems leading Caroline to enquire (apparently with prior suspicion) as to whether there’s anything going on between the her and Richard?
