Darrell is told he must move out. Kirsty continues to be concerned for Helen.

Radio Times: Kirsty faces a dilemma. Meanwhile, Darrell struggles to understand.

  • Kirsty tells Helen about her shopping trip with Tom for a new bed, though Helen’s mind is on other things, namely the lunch at The Bull where she had to face Rob and Jess. She asks Kirsty what she thought of Jess, and rather unwillingly, Kirsty is forced to admit that she liked her very much; Jess was genuine and nice. Poor Helen has to agree, though it is far from what she wanted to think.
  • Giving Darrell a letter from the Job Centre to say that he can sign on again next week, Shula makes him sit down while she breaks the news of Daniel’s return; Darrell will have to move out this week. Darrell seems unable to understand, even when Shula tells him that Alistair has been in touch with the council about alternative housing and Housing Benefit. Perhaps unwisely, Shula tells him there is no rush. Darrell can think it over.
  • Tom makes a delivery at Ambridge Organics to Kirsty’s delight, and they chat about Christmas decorations. Apparently Lynda has decided that Robert must play Friar Tuck, though as yet Robert is unaware of this. As Tom leaves, Helen takes a call from Ian, asking her out on Friday, though she is not keen to go. When Helen says she is not wearing makeup any more because Rob preferred the natural look, Kirsty is appalled.
  • Darrell appears manic as he offers to do countless unnecessary jobs at The Stables, so Shula is relived when Caroline rings and they can go for a ride. Caroline shares Shula’s pleasure over Daniel’s homecoming, and her own relief that they have applications in for the deputy manager post. But she is still sad that things have gone so sour with the Grundy clan.
