David and Ruth come close to a decision on the farm and Emma hopes to have her own home by Christmas.
Radio Times: David and Ruth must make a big decision. Meanwhile, Eddie has a suggestion for Emma.
Characters: David, Eddie, Emma, George, Jill, Ruth- Jill, Ruth and David discuss the substantial offer from Justin Elliott. He is no one’s favourite person but can they refuse the £7.5 million? Jill worries about Elliott’s future plans; they may harm the village. David notes that if they decide to sell the farm at auction and it sells for less, perhaps Elliott will then offer the larger sum to the auction winners. The Archers would lose the extra funds and Elliott would still control the land. They decide to think some more.
- Emma and George drop in to see Clarrie but she is working overtime at the dairy. They reluctantly agree to go with Eddie to see the turkeys instead.
- Jill and David continue their talk while out driving. Jill tells David that she doesn’t trust “that horrible man” with the future of Ambridge but she admits that Pip and the boys come first and their future is most important. She declares that the decision should be David’s and Ruth’s and they will choose the best way.
- Eddie tells George about the “history” of the turkey pardon on Thursday with Joe dressing up as Uncle Sam. Even young George seems dubious. Ruth brings news about Tony who has developed an embolism and is being administered blood thinners. Things do not look good. Emma and Eddie discuss how brave Edward was. Eddie suggests that they ask William for a reduced rent on #1 The Green. Eddie points out that they have nothing to lose by asking.
- Ruth and David discuss their last Christmas orders from Brookfield. They thrash out the options once more. They can’t control everything but they can ensure a farming future for their children. They seem close to accepting Justin Elliott’s offer when the music closes in.
