Ed and Emma announce their engagement to the family who are all thrilled.
Radio Times: Ed and Emma have some news, and the residents learn about the history of the turkey.
Characters: Carol, Clarrie, Ed, Eddie, Emma, Jill, Joe- Jill is trying to avoid the Turkey History performance but Carol persuades her to go. Carol still has to do her reading after Joe’s offering of Henry VIII. Eddie is in the Ernie Wise school of play writing.
- Ed and Emma are trying to work out the music for the performance and Ed has found something a bit jollier than Greensleeves. At least Emma’s food is going well, despite the darioles… Ed is surprised Susan has taken the news of the engagement so well. She thinks Emma could have done better but Emma says she is already planning the wedding although morning dress has been banned under threat of elopement.
- Carol invites Jill both to a drinks party and to help her decorate the tree at Glebe Cottage. Jill offers to make mince pies.
- Emma and Ed announce their news at the Turkey History. Everyone is thrilled and surprised that Emma proposed. The performance is the usual Grundy Christmas Chaos but the turkeys are selling well.
- After the show, Jill admits she isn’t sure who is doing the Christmas dinner this year. She hopes Shula or Elizabeth might do it. Then Clarrie blurts out to Carol and Jill about the engagement.
