Ed is introduced to his new home. Kate is coming home for Christmas. Brian steps away from BL.
Radio Times: The Ambridge Christmas lights are switched on, and Emma has a question.
Characters: Adam, Brian, Charlie, Ed, Emma, Jennifer, Lynda- When he encounters Charlie on the Village Green, waiting for the Christmas lights, Adam warns him that a lot of people will be against the Damara purchase of Brookfield. Charlie tumbles to the fact that Adam was interested. Adam insists that they won’t get their hands on Home Farm.
- Elsewhere on the Green, Emma bemoans the darkness surrounding No. 1. Would you believe it, there are some lights on it; Emma reveals that she helped Eddie put them up. She has the house keys because they are going to be living there.
- Jennifer delivers a message to Lynda: Alice has offered the leading part to Douglas Herrington; allegedly she tried to contact Lynda but couldn’t. There is better news about Tony; they have found the right antibiotic.
- Ed is getting his head round what was intended to be a nice surprise. George is standing by the light switch while Ed acknowledges that Emma is a clever woman; both brothers are as one on that. There is just one thing that would make Emma happier. Ed is an amazing man and a wonderful father – and he would be a wonderful husband too. (It would probably have taken Ed years to get round to that!) To say that Ed’s response is enthusiastic would be an under-statement.
- Jennifer is watching the festivities with Adam. She tells him that Kate feels the need to support Phoebe and she wants to talk to Roy and Hayley face to face, so she is coming for Christmas. Brian arrives late looking like thunder: he has just resigned from the BL Board.
