  • So how was the Festival, and the camping – huddled alone in a sleeping bag? Shula’s question gets a selective response and the subject is deftly changed to Dan at Sandhurst. It is noticeable that Elizabeth is still wearing her wristband. There’s another Loxfest crisis: the student litter-pickers have been poached by another event. Elizabeth suggests a lunch date with Roy to discuss it.
  • Alice has called on Fallon just as she discovers that her Jaxx boss appears to be selling out. Alice plays it down but Fallon is clearly rather down about several aspects of her life, including the lack of a boyfriend. Alice points out that there is a candidate waiting in the wings; Fallon is not even sure that she fancies Harrison Burns.
  • There’s trouble too at The Stables: Alistair has discovered a case of Strangles in a horse that arrived only a few days ago – so he must have brought the infection in. Shula does not relish telling the owner – one of her more difficult clients.
  • Lunch at Lower Loxley gets off to a good start because Elizabeth has solved the litter-picking problem: a group of senior girl guides will do it in return for camping facilities and free tickets. However when Roy starts paying Elizabeth compliments, she quickly takes her salad back to the office.
  • Alistair thinks the horse will recover but it’s a problem Shula could do without. With a logic that defies Alistair, Shula explains that she is feeling sad about Dan.
  • Alice pays Fallon another visit and has a challenge for her. Does she like Harrison Burns? Then text him right now and agree to a date; Alice will not take no for an answer.
