Has Kenton been persuaded to attend a party for himself and his twin?
Radio Times: Jill and Shula hatch a plan, and Helen looks happy.
Characters: Elizabeth, Helen, Jill, Kenton, Shula- What is Ambridge going to do for the forthcoming WI centenary – and where, the Village Hall being out of action? Shula will talk to other local groups. She is pleased that Dan is coming home for her birthday, apparently unperturbed by the recent dinner fiasco. After all the fuss, Alistair’s meeting with a potential big client came to nothing, so he might as well have gone anyway. Jill is keen to have a party for Shula and Kenton at Brookfield. Would Kenton come? Maybe it should be at The Stables instead.
- Striking while the iron is hot, Jill broaches the subject with Kenton. He might manage to see Shula in their birthday but the last thing he wants is a family party. With that, he dashes off. Jill recruits Elizabeth to approach Jolene on the subject; Elizabeth is not flavour of the month with Kenton himself.
- Helen is doing the rounds and spreading the news of her marriage, Elizabeth earlier, now Shula and as he returns, Kenton. So Shula twists Kenton’s arm: going to the party would make so many women happy, herself, mum and Jolene; how can he not? It will only be for a couple of hours or so. He weakens; how can he not?
