  • Tom calls Kirsty to arrange a meeting, perhaps after work. They set a time and place and Kirsty hurries to cut off the call. Helen comes in to talk recipes which will be posted above the appropriate vegetables. They talk about advertising the promotion. Tom compliments her keenness but Helen notes that she needs to pay for the divorce. It is likely to cost thousands and take months. Tom then asks about the contact centre. Helen was impressed and it seems like a small school. Still, she can’t pretend that it isn’t terrible to have that man in her life for the next 18 years.
  • Susan asks Kirsty about Tracy’s kiss with Roy. They were inseparable at New Year’s Eve, she says. Susan thinks it is a very good match although Kirsty tries to stop the talk. Susan thinks Roy will provide stability for Tracy’s kids. Susan also tries to get Kirsty to look at her photographs but Kirsty hurries away calling back that her change can go in the charity box.
  • Helen tells Tom that Rob isn’t contesting the divorce after all. She has just heard from her solicitor. They speculate a bit as to why Rob changed his mind but both agree that it is brilliant news.
  • Tom is a bit late for his meeting with Kirsty but she is fine. His big news is he wants Kirsty to marry him. Kirsty is speechless. Are you mad, asks Kirsty? Tom sees this as a way of putting right his last minute cancelling of their wedding. Kirsty says nothing can ever put that right. She is indignant that Tom has come and stirred up all those memories. Tom’s action was unforgiveable. Kirsty is so angry that she declares Tom cannot come to the scan with her. She doesn’t need him there; in fact, she doesn’t need him at all.
