Helen reveals a secret to Rob and Lilian continues to make excuses for Matt’s absence.

Radio Times: Helen feels anxious, and Rob is on the defensive.

Characters: Adam, Harrison, Helen, Henry, Jolene, Lilian, Rob

• Jolene, thinking it is Fallon in the bath, bursts in while Harrison is showering. Red faces all around.
• Downstairs in the bar, Jolene confesses to Lilian what just happened. Lilian has a few choice comments about Jolene’s ‘luck’; Lilian seems to be drinking to forget her problems.
• Adam stops to greet Helen and Rob while they are out trying to help Henry fly his kite but the conversation between the cousins is a bit strained. Helen feels a cold coming on.
• Jolene talks up the Valentine’s dance with the 40s theme. Lilian is evasive about her attendance with Matt until Jolene mentions Matt’s calendar. Lilian hurries off with an idea.
• An awkward conversation takes place between Jolene and Harrison. Harrison announces he has fixed that bathroom lock so that ‘incident’ won’t happen again. Jolene replies that is a shame!
• Lilian talks to Harrison about Matt’s disappearance. She is convinced that he is just on a secret trip and she recalls the Russian adventure as evidence. Matt’s golf clubs are still at home and he is booked to play in two weeks. There is also a circle around Valentine’s Day on the business calendar. Harrison remains doubtful about these details but Lilian is determined to convince herself that Matt’s absence is temporary.
