  • On Jack and Peggy’s 23rd wedding anniversary, Jennifer takes her mother to The Laurels to see Jack. As Jennifer tells her mother about the food she has prepared for the shoot, Peggy reminisces about meals with Jack.
  • Over lunch, Jennifer asks Rob how Jess is. Lying easily, Rob assures her Jess is fine. Jennifer comments on Rob’s tired appearance; it must be all those extra shifts he did over Christmas. Poor Jess can hardly have seen him.
  • Lilian calls at The Bull to tell Jolene her news. Jolene thinks Lilian will be a groovy granny: unlike Lynda, Lilian will let her grandchild do all the things no-one else will allow him to do.
  • Helen gate-crashes the shoot lunch and lies to Jennifer, saying she had heard it was open house. As the guns come in she creeps up on Rob and yet more awful smooching ensues. Rob wants Helen to move in with him as soon as possible so that they no longer have to keep their relationship a secret. At this point Jennifer sees them, so more lies and adolescent giggles ensue. And more smooching. No wonder Jennifer told Rob he was looking tired.
  • Peggy has returned to The Laurels thanks to Tom, to show Jack their wedding photos, though he is unresponsive. She sits and holds his hand, unwilling to leave him.
