Helen throws herself into the role of housewife. Lynda looks to a major role with FLOS.
Radio Times: Jennifer and Brian are worried, while Lynda takes a bold step.
Characters: Adam, Brian, Helen, Jennifer, Lynda- Brian and Adam discuss the Roy and Hayley situation as they look over the sheep. Brian seems somewhat amused, but Adam has sympathy for Phoebe. Meanwhile Adam is anxious to hear what Justin Elliott and his cronies have decided about the arable contract. Charlie seems to have disappeared. But there is some good news in the village; Adam will ask Ed and Jazzer to help with crutching the sheep.
- Newly-appointed domestic goddess Helen meets Lynda is the shop and extols the delights of being a full-time mother. Henry is, in fact, at nursery, but Helen is not one to dwell on the finer points. Rob rings her, seemingly wanting to know where she is and what she will be cooking tonight. He will ring half an hour before he leaves so that his meal can be ready and not over-cooked. Helen melts at such a display of thoughtfulness.
- Jenny is off this evening to see The Mikado with Chris, but will leave supper for Phoebe and Brian. She manages to remind the erstwhile lothario of the hurt caused to wives by husbands who play away, which seems to remind Brian that he must leave instantly for the BL meeting.
- Rob returns to a meal cooking, a glass of wine, flowers, a newly-polished dresser and the promise of home-made damson jam. When Helen tells him of her exciting day, talking to Bert and making arrangements to see Emma’s upcycled furniture, patronising Rob says they can’t have her getting lonely… can they?
- At the FLOS production Jenny is surprised to meet Lynda, who seems embarrassed. Jenny soon spots the reason; Lynda has put her name down to audition for the lead in the FLOS Christmas production. With a faint lack of tact, Jenny asks if Lynda thinks she is really up to this, and has to think quickly to repair the damage.
- Brian returns with the news that Charlie was not at the meeting (which might explain a lot, muses Adam darkly) and that there is no update on the contract. Justin will be at the Hunt Ball, however, which seems to be more important in Brian’s eyes. Jenny returns with the news that she has spoken to Hayley, who is grateful and apologetic, but who has no idea when she will be back.
