Radio Times: There is a sign up outside Brookfield, and Charlie has got something to say to Adam.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Jazzer and Tony are also fixing a drinking trough. Johnny has been getting to know Maurice at the sausage unit. He even actually cheered Maurice up.
  • Jill and Carol are having tea at Grey Gables. Ian tells them how badly behaved some people were after the shoot. Jill wants to show Carol the brochure for the farm. It makes Brookfield look beautiful. Rodways have done a good job. Though it is strange seeing it parcelled up in three lots. Jill is expecting major changes such as the orchard being grubbed up. Carol says she’ll still have her memories and Jill says she won’t want to visit the farm when she comes back. She couldn’t bear it. She feels like she is turning her back on the past and on Phil.
  • Charlie finally sees Adam about the contract. He isn’t very positive. Home Farm is at the bottom of the contracting league. It comes back to the idea that Debbie being in Hungary is the problem. They won’t be renewing the contract. RB Farming will be taking on the work. Adam is outraged. No one in the industry respects them and it would have been nice to have some warning. Charlie wants to talk about Debbie in a different conversation. But in the meantime he suggests that he should put in a decent tender to RB and there will be lots of work. Adam tells him he can stuff his offer.
  • Johnny can’t wait to see his parents for the weekend. He wants to tell them all he has been doing. Jazzer wonders if he will make it. Tony can’t see why not – he is really keen with a knack with the stock. Jazzer says, much to Tony’s surprise, that Johnny reminds him of himself at that age.
  • Adam gets a text from Charlie saying the offer is still open. Ian tells him to calm down and put the phone away. And then they see the For Sale sign at Brookfield. It looks as if the Archers really are leaving Ambridge.
